The Filter button on your Entry Log narrows the list to the entries you want to see: one property, one date range, one participant, one category, or any combination. While a filter is on, a banner above the list shows the total hours and the number of entries in that selection, which is the quickest way to answer "how many hours did I log at this property this year?" Filters are available on every plan and work on iPhone, Android, and the web app.
Where to Find It
- Open the Entries tab. The screen is titled Entry Log.
- On iPhone and Android, tap Filter in the header. On the web app, click Filter next to the Smart Search field.
The button only appears once you have at least one entry. When filters are active, it shows a small bubble with the number of filters in use.
The Filters Sheet
The sheet is titled Filters and has four sections. Set as many or as few as you need, then tap Apply Filters.
Date Range
- Set a Start Date and an End Date. The end date cannot be before the start date, and neither can be in the future.
- If your entries span more than one calendar year, a row of year buttons appears under the date pickers. Tap a year to set the range to that whole year in one go.
- Leave both dates empty to include every date.
Properties
- Tick the properties you want to see. Unassigned covers entries that are not tied to any property.
- All Properties ticks everything. Clear unticks everything, which also means no property filter is applied.
Participants
- Tick Myself for your own entries and any participant you have added for theirs.
- All Participants and Clear work the same way as for properties.
Categories
- Tick the categories you want. (none) covers entries that have no category.
- All Categories and Clear work the same way.
Reading the Filtered Log
- The list shows only matching entries, newest first.
- A banner above the list shows the total hours and the number of entries in the selection.
- If nothing matches, you see "No Results Found" with a note that no entries match your filters.
Tip: Filters and Smart Search work together. With a filter on, typing in the Smart Search field searches only inside the filtered entries, so "inspection" plus one property plus one year is a very precise question. Smart Search is a Premium feature; the filters themselves are on every plan.
Clearing Filters
- Tap Filter.
- Tap Clear at the bottom of the sheet, then Apply Filters.
The bubble on the Filter button disappears and the full log returns.
Long-Term and Short-Term Rentals
If you track both long-term (LTR) and short-term (STR) properties, an LTR / STR toggle appears on the Entry Log. It switches the whole log between the two kinds of property. Switching it resets your filters and clears any search, so set the toggle first and then filter.
For Short-Term Rental Hosts
If you host on Airbnb, Vrbo or a similar site and track hours for the STR loophole, the default goal is 100 hours per property, and the Overview shows each property as its own x/100 row. The filters let you read the entries behind one of those rows.
One property's hours
- Set the LTR / STR toggle to STR if you have both kinds of property.
- Tap Filter, tap the year button (or set a Start Date and End Date), and tick the one property under Properties.
- Under Participants, tick Myself (and Spouse, if you log together) and clear the rest.
- Tap Apply Filters. The banner shows your hours for that property in that year, and every turnover, restocking and guest-message entry is listed underneath.
Comparing your hours with a cleaner's
Open Filter again, keep the property and year, and under Participants tick only Cleaner (or the co-host or manager you added). Apply, and the banner shows the hours you logged under that name for the same property and period. Compare the two totals. The Overview's participant breakdown, reached by tapping the arrow on the property's row, shows the same comparison at a glance; the filtered log is the list of entries behind it.
Tip: Log the cleaner's turnovers and the co-host's guest messages as entries under their own participant name, with the invoice or receipt attached, so the comparison has something to compare against.
Troubleshooting
I set a filter and the list is empty
Check the date range first, since a range that ends before your entries start matches nothing. Then look at which boxes are ticked: an entry has to match every section you narrowed, so one property plus one participant plus one category can easily be an empty set. Leaving a list completely unticked means no filter for that section, so use Clear on any list you do not need. Tap Clear at the bottom of the sheet to start again if in doubt.
The app says to select fewer items or use All
Each list accepts up to 30 ticked items unless you select all of them, and ticking a few items in several lists at once has a combined limit. Tap All Properties, All Participants, or All Categories for the list you do not need to narrow, and the selection is accepted.
I cannot see entries from last year
The entry log shows every entry in date order, so older entries are further down. To see one year on its own, tap Filter and tap that year's button under the date pickers, or set the Start Date and End Date by hand. The Overview screen has its own year selector for yearly totals.
My filtered total does not match the Overview
The banner on the Entry Log totals only the entries that match your filters. The Overview shows the totals for the year selected there and ignores the entry log filters. Clear the filters, or match the date range to the Overview's year, and the two agree.
The Filter button is missing
It appears once you have at least one entry in the current LTR or STR view. Add an entry, or switch the LTR / STR toggle, and it shows.
