You can change the email address on your REPSLog account yourself, from Settings. You no longer need to contact support to do it. The change is confirmed from both inboxes, the old one and the new one, so nobody can move your account to an address you do not control.
Before you start: you need to be able to receive email at your current address. The first link goes there. If you have lost access to that inbox, this flow cannot help and you should contact us instead.
What the Change Does
Read this part before you start, because it affects how you sign in afterwards.
- You are signed out on all your devices.
- Signing in with Google or Apple stops working. Those sign-ins are tied to your old address, and the link is removed as part of the change. After it lands you sign in with the new address, using a magic link, a password, or a passkey.
- If you sign in with a password, it keeps working and simply follows your new address. The old address stops working right away.
- Your log, properties, categories, subscription, and anyone you have invited are all unaffected.
If Google or Apple is the only way you have ever signed in, set a password first, or be ready to use a magic link at your new address.
How to Change It
- Open Settings and tap Change Email Address.
- Type the new address and tap Send approval email.
- Open the email at your current address and click the approval link. This is the step that proves the request is really from you, which is why there is no password or code to enter.
- Open the email at your new address and click the activation link.
- Sign back in with the new address.
The screen shows all three steps with a check against each one as it completes, so you can always see which inbox to look in next.
Tip: Both links expire 24 hours after they are sent. If you do not see the email, check your spam folder before starting again.
Cancelling a Change
While a change is in progress, the same screen has Cancel this change. Cancelling stops the links that are already sitting in your inboxes from working. Your account email stays exactly as it is.
Troubleshooting
"That email is already connected to another REPSLog account"
The address you entered is in use by a different account. Sign in to that account instead, or use another address. REPSLog cannot merge two accounts into one.
"Apple private relay addresses cannot be used as an account email"
An address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com is a forwarding address Apple generates, not a real inbox you control, so it cannot be a REPSLog account email. Use a regular address you can receive mail at.
"You have started too many email changes today"
There is a small daily cap on how many changes you can start, to stop the flow being used to spam an address. It resets the next day.
My request expired
Neither link was used within 24 hours, so the request was closed and nothing changed. Start a new one from the same screen.
"Another REPSLog account claimed that address before you confirmed it"
Somebody signed up with that address while your change was in progress. Nothing changed on your account. Try a different address.
I do not see Change Email Address in Settings
The option is for account owners. If you were invited to somebody else's REPSLog account, you are managing their log, not your own account, and the option does not apply.
I got an email about a change I did not request
Do not click the link. Nothing has changed on your account unless both links are clicked. Contact us right away so we can look into it.
